I have a Datalogic quickscan QD2430 barcode reader. It works perfectly on windows. How can I make it work in VM environment?I disconnect the b/c reader from the host device to the VM, but I get a warning on Ubuntu that there is a problem with the driver. When I type lsusb I can't see the b/c reader in the list.
A CD-ROM with drivers, utilities and comprehensive manual is no longer included with the Epson TM-T20 III printers. If you need these, you can download it from the following link: Epson TM-T20 III downloads
Quickscan Qd2430 Driver
When you connect the scanner to the USB port, Windows will try to install this as an HID, but it takes an unusually long time, about 7-8 seconds, to start up the device and install the drivers and comes up as unknown device in windows "devices and printers" And the hand scanner is not working.
when configuring the barcode scanner, I need to choose whether the device will use USB KBD interface, meaning that the device will be detected by Windows as a USB keyboard. The driver you are referring to is if you choose to configure the barcode scanner as a virtual COM port over USB. for example, POS systems.
For all systems, the correct USB driver for the default USB-KBD interface is included in the host operating system and will either be loaded or cancel or will be unwrapped by the OS and Should Therefore be selected from the dialg box (the first time only)
I have also tried to put the barcode scanner to the USB-COM interface mode and installed the drivers as you point out,The barcode scanner is a bit easier to establish contact with the PC but it dosn't handle it everytime i test to plug un the usb cable int to the computer.
The reason it's appearing as a "Base System Device" is because your system cannot properly interact with the device. This is usually because your computer doesn't have the device's official driver to work with.
Your first port of call should be downloading the correct driver from your device's manufacturer. You could ask Windows to find the driver for you, but there's a good chance that this error occurred because Windows failed to find anything to download.
Related: How to Find & Replace Outdated Windows DriversIf you don't have the original driver disk for your device, try searching online for your device name or its manufacturer. Then, go to the manufacturer's website and download the relevant drivers. For instance, if you want to install the driver for your Intel-based chipset, you can use Intel's Chipset Installation Utility.
Once you find the appropriate drivers, right-click on the Base System Device from the Device Manager and select Update driver. On the following screen, select Browse my computer for drivers and navigate to the folder where you've stored the driver files.
If you want to give Windows' automatic update feature a shot, go to the Update Driver menu as above. However, select Search automatically for drivers instead of Browse my computer for drivers.
Windows will then search for an appropriate driver. If it finds one, you can install the driver by following the setup steps Windows provides you. If it doesn't, you could try running a Windows Update to see if that helps. 2ff7e9595c
